The negative affects from individual sins can resonate in ways that we cannot predict.
From the beginning of time (according to Genesis), sin has caused consequence, pain and even death. Adam and Eve had everything they could have ever needed including fellowship in the garden with God himself. Then sin entered, and brought heartache and consequences that continue to this day.
Yesterday, I was faced with the reality of how much my sins affected a friend 40 years ago.
We're always aware of when we are doing wrong, but rarely consider how it affects those around us. That's the sinful, selfish nature of man.
The truly awesome part of this story though is the restoration that came to both lives through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Healer & Redeemer!
He has promised to restore ALL that the cankerworm and locust have eaten; and to take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it for good, for those who love God and are called according to His purpose!
The Mayflower Compact was the first governing document of Plymouth Colony.
"Being thus arrived in a good harbor and brought safe to land, they fell upon their knees and blessed the God of Heaven who had brought them over the vast and furious ocean." William Bradford
“Almighty God, by your great mercy we have reached this land, which we now claim and establish for Thy eternal purposes. We ask thee to open hearts and enlighten the understanding of the peoples of these shores to comprehend the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.”
